Exciting Lusaka to Livingstone and Chobe (Botswana) Holiday Package. For 6 nights, 7 days.

Introduction.

This 7 Day itinerary entails you travelling by comfortable and enjoyable overland vehicle from Lusaka to Livingstone, with an overnight sleep over in Choma. There is live commentary on-board all done in English. You have to see and experience the southern tourism circuit part of Zambia in real-time by undertaking this exciting 6 day overland travel excursion. 

Exciting adventure activities in Livingstone
After arriving in Livingstone,  you will spend  the rest of the remaining few days undertaking various adventure and cultural activities. One of the exciting adventure activity you will do is visiting the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park.
Visit to neighbouring Botswana to tour Chobe National Park

You will do a  game drive in  Chobe National Park in the neighboring Botswana for a full day. You will travel by road from Livingstone Zambia to Kasane in Botswana. The Chobe National park is home to the world’s largest Elephant population, amazing wildlife, and Africa’s largest predators:
Lions, Leopards and Wild dogs.

Game Drive  and  Rhino Walk Safari in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park in Livingstone.
You will do wildlife viewing game drive in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park for approximately 2 Hours. This will be done in an open 4×4 safari vehicle with a qualified safari guide. 
Narrative (information tip): A game drive  offers a thrilling experience to have close encounters with 3 of the Big 5 animals namely Elephant; Buffalo and the near threatened White Rhino with good photographic opportunities while in the safety confines of the vehicle.

NOTE: Children below the age of 10 years are offered 50% discount.

 Style of travel: By road using our full sedan vehicle or bus or mini-bus, 4 x 4 (Plain), 4 x 4 double cab.

Terms of payment: 20% at booking and 80% before commencement of tour.

Full Itinerary

Travel Route:  Lusaka –  Monze – Choma for an overnight sleep over. 

Order of the program.

Pick-up point is LEVY MALL JUNCTION in Lusaka, capital city of Zambia. This is  in the parking yard directly opposite StayEasy Lusaka Hotel.

07:30 am: You will be picked from the parking yard of Levy Mall junction in front of StayEasy Hotel Lusaka. 

Travel advice: So, from your home, on this morning of day 1, kindly find your way to StayEasy Lusaka Hotel (GPS INFORMATION S 15 24′ 10” E 28 17′ 7”) in the central business district (CBD) of Lusaka car parking yard.

 

NB:
We do not arrange and provide transport from your home to StayEasy Hotel car parking yard.

Program of activities on day one (1)

Phase I

 

06:30 am: This whole journey will start
from the beautiful and centrally located StayEasy Lusaka Hotel Car Park Yard.

 

07:30 am: Commencement of the tour: Thereafter all the

travel formalities, you will board the tour vehicle and travel by road from Lusaka to Choma via the T-2 Kafue Road and the T-1 Livingstone Road.

 09:50 am: After Kafue town, we will head to one of Zambian’s unique
natural landmarks; the Kafue River and state-of-art Kafue Road Bridge.

Second stop-over: Munali Pass National Monument

13:20 pm: Arrive in Monze.

Visit the Samu Lya Moomba national heritage site outside Monze town in Bweengwa area, Chief CHOONGO’s chiefdom to see Zambia’s deep cultural heritage.

Narration (information tip): Samu Lya Moomba holds a special place in Zambia’s history as it was the location some freedom fighters from across Zambia would meet to strategise on the attainment of Zambia’s political independence.

13:30 pm: Eat a sumptuous lunch at Food Royal or the Indian Restaurant or at any other upmarket restaurant in Monze town.

 

14:00 pm: Travel to Family Safari Lodge on the outskirts of Monze on the way to Choma.  There you will see some wild animal in a private reserve.

 

17:30 pm: Arrive in Choma and enjoy your dinner.

21:30 pm: Spend an overnight sleep over in Choma.

 NOTE (1): Please be at LEVY MALL congregation point outside StayEasy Hotel by 06:30 am in order to attend the briefing session.

Accommodation: You will stay and sleep in nice and comfortable Lodge in Choma at the end of the day 1.

Program of the day

06:10 am: Wakeup call; thereafter take a warm shower. 

07:00 am – 07: 30: am – Enjoy morning breakfast.

08:00 am – Visit the Choma Museum and Craft Center

09:00 am: Proceed to Kalomo town. Leave for Kalomo town travelling by road down southwards on the original T-1 main tourist road of Zambia (The Livingstone – Lusaka main tourist road).

Visit and tour the Kalundu Mound: About 3 km before reaching Kalomo, on the main road, is a slightly raised mound (a matter of just a few metres) of earth through which the road passes. This marks the site of an Iron-Age village, and the mound is the accumulated debris of many centuries of occupation. 

12:30 pm: Arrive in Kalomo town, the first colonial capital city of Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia). In 1907, Kalomo became the colonial capital centre of what was then known as Northern-Western Rhodesia. In 1911 it became the capital of Northern Rhodesia, what is today called Zambia.

15:30 pm– Proceed to Livingstone.

06:30 pm – Arrive in Livingstone, the final destination of your Zambian safari trip but the beginning of some exciting adventure and cultural activities!

19:00 pm – 21:30 pm:  Evening dinner and relaxation with friends.

22:00 pm:  Retire to bed to sleep.

Narration (information tip): A game drive offers a thrilling experience to have close encounters with 3 of the Big 5 animals. These are Elephant; Buffalo and the near threatened White Rhino with good photographic opportunities while in the safety confines of the vehicle.

 

Afternoon Activity (sunset cruise): You will be picked from the reception of the lodge. You will then be transferred for your exciting, relaxing and splendid sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River above the mighty Victoria Falls aboard a medium-sized boat cruise. 

19:30 pm: Evening entertainment.

21:30 pm: Retire to sleep.

Sequence of events on this day

07:00 am – 07:30 am    –  Take your sumptuous breakfast

08:00 am  – Travel to the Victoria Falls  for a wonderful waterfalls touring experience.

08:00 am – 10:30 am – Commence touring Victoria Falls; Thereafter visit the local craft market. 

10:30 am – 11: 00 am – Travel back to Livingstone city;  Visit the Livingstone Museum.

11:00 am – 12:30 pm – Visit and commence touring Livingstone city. You will see the colonial buildings, many shops, banks, local market. 

Narration (information tip):– This is an opportunity for you to withdraw cash at the numerous automatic teller machines (ATM cash dispensers) for your spending pleasure in Livingstone. Buy your assortment of drinks at the famous Shoprite shop on your own cost; thereafter, return to the lodge. 

13:00 pm 14:30 pm – Lunch break

14:30 pm – 15:30 pm –  Take afternoon rest in your room.

15:30 pm – 16:00 pm – Travel from Livingstone to Mukuni village.

16:00 hrsNext activity: Village Tour to Mukuni Village. Experience the African Cultural Lifestyle in Real-time at Mukuni Village in Livingstone Zambia. 

During your tour you will be treated to an African experience where you will get to learn more about the African culture and also interact with people from the village.

At the end of the Mukuni Village Tour, you will be transferred back to your Lodge for dinner and good night rest of sleep.

05:20 am:  You will be picked from your lodge/hotel in Livingstone and proceed straight away to Kazungula – Zambia/Botswana one stop border post, a distance of about 80 kms.  Please do not carry all your luggage from your lodge/hotel as you will return back to the same lodge/hotel on the same day at the end of the Chobe day trip  unless otherwise. 

08:00 am: Kazungula Zambia/Botswana one stop border station.

What is special about Chobe National Park?

The Chobe National Park is widely known for its large elephant population, estimated to be around 50,000. Elephants living here are Kalahari elephants, the largest in herd size of all known elephant populations. They are characterized by rather brittle ivory and short tusks, perhaps due to calcium deficiency in the soils.

You will commence your game drive in Chobe National Park in an open safari vehicle under the supervision of a qualified tour guide. You will see  the world’s largest Elephant population, amazing wildlife, and Africa’s largest predators: Lions, Leopards and Wild dogs.

You will be offered refreshments whilst on the game drive activities.

12:30 pm: Excellent buffet lunch .

You will take a delicious buffet lunch by the shores of Chobe River. 

14:00 pm: Chobe Boat Cruise.

You will go for an afternoon boat cruise experience on the Chobe River using a speedboat which allows you to come closer to the animals. You will be surprised at the number of wild animals  you will see within this area. Accompanied by a tour guide, you will see elephant swimming across from Namibia to Botswana, crocodiles, hippos, water buffalos, a lot of different species of bird life. you will be offered refreshments on this boat cruise. 

16:00 pm: Kasane – Botswana and spend a night in either Kasane or Kazungula.

 

18:00 hrs: Dinner and relaxing with friends.

19:30 hrs. You are free for an evening night of entertainment either in Kasane or Kazungula at your own cost.

22:00 hrs: Should be in bed and sleep.

 

Still in Chobe region

You will take this day with laid back morning activities as you will be guided by the trip leader.

Afternoon session: You will rest in the afternoon or do any other interest activity at your own cost.

05:00 hrs: Take your morning bath. Pack your luggage and check out of the lodge.

06:00 hrs: Cross from Botswana and head straight to Livingstone. Take breakfast and thereafter head back to Lusaka with our vehicle

(Or) Decide to remain in Livingstone to pursue other interests at your own cost.

17:30 hrs. Arrive in Lusaka and dropped off at StayEasy Hotel Lusaka in the car park.

Travel Advice:

Kindly travel light but carry adequate clothing for travelling, and for walking around, and game viewing. You must to pack their mosquito repellant as we are still a wet season full of mosquitoes everywhere in Zambia. Masking up in public places is no longer a requirement in Zambia.

Other items to carry include:

  1. Please carry your Zambian National Registration Card (NRC). This is a mandatory requirement for you to be able to enter the Kafue National Park. 
  2. Comfortable walking shoes and open sandals.
  3. Full sleeve less bright colored tops for game viewing excursion.
  4. Umbrellas and if possible a hat to protect them from sunshine just in case it gets hot. Carry jersey just in case it gets cold. Carry also just one or two light blankets in case of a car breakdown.
  5. Small bottle of sanitizers, small bottle of glycerin and personal tower.
  6. Any other personal items for your convenience such as ATM, Visa cards e.t.c. In case you want special wine and drinks to celebrate their holiday, you are better off buying them in Lusaka where it is cheap as compared to Kafue National Park. Getting smaller cooler box will not be a bad idea as well to cool off your drinks. Please you must not forget their toast paste and tooth brushes.

Cancellation and Refunds:

  • 2 months before departure date: Full refund of the money paid.
  • 1 month before departure date: 50% refund of the money already paid.
  • 1 – 15 days before departure date:  30% refund of the money already paid
  • 14 – 1 day before departure date: No refund (Customer loses money already paid)
