To Kafue National Park (southern region) for 3 nights, 4 days

i. Groups: K2,500 per person (if we are providing transport to and from Kafue National Park ourselves) excluding emergency  evacuation travel insurance. 

ii.Groups: 1,750 per person (if the client is providing own transport to and from Kafue National Park (Southern region). Excluding emergency evacuation travel insurance.

Terms of payment: 20% at booking and 80% before commencement of tour.

Accommodation: In various lodges and guest houses in Itezhi Tezhi town.

Full Itinerary

Focus destination: This is an exciting day of you travelling by road from Lusaka to the Kafue National Park, southern region of Ngoma Area Management situated in Itezhi Tezhi.
NOTE: Travelling time between Lusaka and Naumba River Camp on the first day will be close to 7 – 8 hours.
 
Accompanied by our tour guide and driver, you will travel westward on the Lusaka – Mongu (M9) road. At some point, you will branch off from the M9 road into the D769 heading to Itezhi Tezhi. The final destination will be to the southern region of the Kafue National Park (a distance of 329 kms )
Accommodation: You will stay and sleep in good tents or rooms with comfortable beds at Naumba River Camp outside Itezhi Tezhi.  Naumba River Camp is located in the Namwala Game Management about 1 and half kms from MUSA gate of the the Kafue National Park (Southern region).
­Narration: Thereafter, we will proceed and arrive at Nalusanga Lay-by station situated along the same M9 road high way. In truth, you will have entered the Kafue National Park at Nalusanga station as there is a wildlife barrier across the road. However, the formalities of entering the Kafue Park at this point are somewhat relaxed and not strict. You will not be required pay any park entry fees or show your NRC. Only the driver will be required to sign in the log book and allowed to enter the partial park.
 

Order of the program.

Pick-up point is LEVY MALL JUNCTION in Lusaka, capital city of Zambia.

08:00 am: You will be picked from the parking yard of Levy Mall junction in front of StayEasy Hotel Lusaka. Accompanied by our tour guide and driver, you will travel westward using our vehicle on the Lusaka – Mongu (M9) road. The final destination will be Mwamfushi Safari Lodge situated in the central region of the Kafue National Park but physically located in the Namwala Game Management Area.

NOTE: Please be at LEVY MALL congregation point outside StayEasy Hotel by 06:30 am in order to attend the briefing session.

Program of the day
07:30 am: Wake up from Naumba River Camp. This is about 1 Km away from the MUSA gate of the Kafue National Park. Thereafter you take your sumptuous breakfast.
08:30 am: You will then leave for Ngoma game management area of the Kafue National Park – southern region for game viewing.
09:30 am – 10:30 am: Enter into the Ngoma management area inside the Kafue National Park – southern region for game viewing.
10:20 am – 11.30 am: Commence touring around Ngoma area management, stopping frequently in safe places to have a closer look at some wild animals.
11:30 am – 12:00 pm: (Optional activity): Time and conditions permitting, drive to the Elephant Orphanage centre within the Kafue National Park – southern area.
Narration (information tip): You will see the marvellous work being done by David Sheppard Foundation volunteers in looking after vulnerable elephants.
Any donation from you either in-kind or cash is welcome. Your contribution goes towards supporting the marvellous work being done in protecting vulnerable young orphaned elephants and later releasing them into the wild once fully grown.
What may be donated by you can be (not compulsory):
1. Medicines to be used for caring for these elephants
2. Food supplements for the elephants.
3. PPE Safety working clothing for the elephant care givers including any cash donation of any amount.
4. Any financial support in cash is welcome.
12:30 pm – 13:30 pm: Eat sumptuous lunch at Elephant Orphanage centre.
NOTE: On certain days, the Elephant Orphanage center is closed to members of the public including tourists for visitation and tour. This is done to enable the center management carry out specialized routine medical care for the elephants. In this kind of situation, you will not visit the elephant orphanage center but continue with game viewing in the Kafue National Park, ngoma management area.
14:00 pm – Proceed to Nkala and Ngoma game management areas using the various loops especially those located along the river for more wildlife viewing.
Exit Kafue National Park at Musa gate and return to Naumba River camp to take a short rest.
Visit to Longola Hotsprings
16: 00 pm: Leave for Iyanda Village situated outside the Kafue National Park for Longola Hotsprings for nature and cultural tour experience.
Narration (information tip): No hotspring bathing facilities are available at Longola Hotsprings but you will enjoy a beautiful scenic view of the hotsprings that includes leafy Palm Trees.
18: 00 pm: At the end of the Longola tour, you will return to Naumba River Camp for the evening of rest.
19:00 pm – 21:30 pm: Evening dinner and relaxation with friends.
21:00 pm: Retire to bed to sleep.

Sequence of events on this day

Wake in the morning and take your sumptuous breakfast at the lodge.

Narration: You will depart from Naumba River Camp of Kafue National Park back to Lusaka.

Final Phase: Arrive in Lusaka, capital city of Zambia at LEVY MALL JUNCTION

  1. Transport from Levy Mall Junction to Itezhi Tezhi enroute to Naumba River Camp of Kafue National Park and return to Lusaka.
  2. Meals and mineral water during the tour.
  3. Decent accommodation at Naumba River camp situated in Namwala Game Management Area.
  4. All activities listed in the itinerary.
  1. Non Zambians are excluded from booking and undertaking this tour. Proof of being a Zambian citizen by showing your green national registration card is a mandatory requirement before booking this tour.
  2. Alcoholic beverages are excluded in this package
  3. Any activities not listed in the package.
  4. The duration of this package cannot extended be without consulting Lochinvar Safaris.
  5. Transport to and from your home to Levy Mall junction to commence/end your tour. 
  6. Deviation to any other destination not listed in this itinerary.

Travel Advice:

Kindly travel light but carry adequate clothing for travelling, and for walking around, and game viewing. You must to pack their mosquito repellant as we are still a wet season full of mosquitoes everywhere in Zambia. Masking up in public places is no longer a requirement in Zambia.

Other items to carry include:

  1. Please carry your Zambian National Registration Card (NRC). This is a mandatory requirement for you to be able to enter the Kafue National Park. 
  2. Comfortable walking shoes and open sandals.
  3. Full sleeve less bright colored tops for game viewing excursion.
  4. Umbrellas and if possible a hat to protect them from sunshine just in case it gets hot. Carry jersey just in case it gets cold. Carry also just one or two light blankets in case of a car breakdown.
  5. Small bottle of sanitizers, small bottle of glycerin and personal tower.
  6. Any other personal items for your convenience such as ATM, Visa cards e.t.c. In case you want special wine and drinks to celebrate their holiday, you are better off buying them in Lusaka where it is cheap as compared to Kafue National Park. Getting smaller cooler box will not be a bad idea as well to cool off your drinks. Please you must not forget their toast paste and tooth brushes.

Cancellation and Refunds:

  • 2 months before departure date: Full refund of the money paid.
  • 1 month before departure date: 50% refund of the money already paid.
  • 1 – 15 days before departure date:  30% refund of the money already paid
  • 14 – 1 day before departure date: No refund (Customer loses money already paid)
